This was probably our best weather day so far. Legoland was only open from 9-5, so got up early and arrived just minutes after it opened. If you ask the kids, they would say that this was their favorite park of the week. The rides are specifically aimed for 3-10 year olds, so it was right up their alley. It was a great day and we could have easily spent two days at this one park, but -for me- it didn't hold the same magic as DW. I am so glad that we made it a point to come. Everyone had a really wonderful time. We will definitely be back.
These pictures were taken in the parking lot. He's shouting/ "Legoland!" because he's so excited.
Happy, colorful family photo
As soon as we entered, they started pointing out and climbing on the Lego statues.
Yum!
They were starting to decorate for Christmas while we were there.
We went on this awesome, slow-moving ride that raises up high in the sky and had a great view of a lake, the park, and the under construction Legoland hotel.
The kids loved every ride. The only ones they avoided were the roller coasters (as usual).
I loved watching the kids, the shopping, and all the cool Lego creations.
We started in the Duplo area.
Elena and Kevin loved being able to ride in the front of the train.
Each area of Legoland has a different kind of playground. This is the one in Duplo Valley. We only had time to try out 2 playgrounds because we spent the day running from ride to ride, but they were both a lot of fun.
Merlin's Challenge was a lot of fun. Dan took an awesome picture on his phone that really captured the joy on the kids faces mid-ride.
This is the castle in the Lego Kingdoms area. The kids loved posing as knights.
Elena had to take a moment to pose with her favorite animal.
Kevin had a different idea of how to pose with the piggy.
Jonah wants to be like his older brother and sister.
They both really liked this one. Jonah was too small.
On to the Land of Adventure:
Kevin went on this rider several times. Only one adult could go at a time, so once he rode with this nice lady.
And then Jonah and I joined him. It was super bouncy and fun.
This was one of my and Dan's favorites. You get to shoot at targets in the dark kind of like the Buzz Lightyear ride at Disney World. Jonah went on it once, but thought it was a little too scary to go on again.
This safari ride was really fun. The kids and I went on it while Dan saved our seats at the firefighter show. The cars only sat 2 at a time and the kids couldn't ride without an adult, so the awesome employees rode with Elena and Kevin and I went with Jonah.
The show as perfect for Jonah who is obsessed with fire engines, putting out fires, fire fighters, etc. It was funny with lots of stunts.
Best idea ever (and they have it at almost every ride):
My cute boys steering the boat:
Elena and her daddy cruising on the "river":
This was a lot of fun. It was one of the only lines we had to wait in for more than 3 minutes all day. It was a competition. Dison boys vs. Dison girls. I am sad to say that the boys won...this time. I'll demand a rematch when we go back someday.
Junior Driving School: Jonah was so excited to drive a Lego car! He was a little too young to ride on this one, but would have been so disappointed to miss out. He had a great time even though he spent most of the time crashing into the curb. All that mattered was that he got to drive a blue car. They even pass out official Legoland driver's licenses afterwards.
The big kids Driving School was really cool. They had a short class first and had to obey the rules of the road (stop signs, etc). Kevin was a little too young for this one, but would have been bored to death at the Jr Driving School with Jonah. He and Elena both did a great job and loved getting their little driver's licenses too.
This was a fun one. Kevin and I had a great time.
The kids and Dan could have spent the whole day in the Imagination Zone. They built cars and then raced them for a while, but then I hurried everyone around to the next activity. After all, we only had from 10-5 to see the whole park.
We went on a ride where you pull yourself up a tall pole at your own pace. Next we caught the end of a strange stunt-waterskiing, Lego pirate play.
Uh oh, we got sidetracked by another building activity. Everyone had a great time building our own unique Bionicles in the Hero Factory. It was good to be still for a few minutes after hours of running around.
In almost every area of Legoland, they have unique playgrounds. We passed by many of them, but didn't have time to stop. Before they closed, we wanted to be sure to try out one playground and the kids picked this one. It was so fun. You shoot people/things from the second floor with ball shooters. It was also fun to restock the balls into the vacuum tubes. It was really a blast.
We visited Miniland last because had heard that it stays open 30 minutes longer than the rest of the park. There were so many amazing scenes and buildings.
We waited for about 10 minutes for the countdown timer on the space shuttle launcher to run out. We thought it might blast a couple of feet into the air. We were pretty disappointed when only a small puff of steam came out.

Once we were kicked out of Miniland at 5:30, we headed to the shops to look around until they closed too. We were one of the last families out - we wanted to get the most for our money. This is our final picture of the day; I took it in the bathroom on our way back to the car. Goodbye, Legoland! We'll be back soon I hope.
